The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the Bahraini Shura Council has maintained its decision to reject the amendment to the Financial and Administrative Audit Office Law, which requires the NAO to refer any violation involving a criminal offense to the Public Prosecution.

The government amendments to the general budget draft law for the fiscal years 2017-2018 revealed an increase in the budget deficit by BD 5 million 428 thousand.

The Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs in the Bahraini Parliament approved by a majority vote to raise the public debt limit to BD 13 billion. This came during a meeting convened for the committee on Saturday (July 8, 2017).
