Crown Prince Amends Formation of "National Human Rights Committee"

Bahrain Mirror: Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa issued today (Tuesday, November 14, 2023) Article (II) of Edict (35) of 2023, on establishing and forming the National Human Rights Committee, based on a proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and following the approval of the Cabinet.
The edict stipulates the following:
Article (I)
The text of the first clause of the first paragraph of Article (II) of Edict (35) of 2023, shall be replaced with the following text:
"1- Undersecretary for Planning, Family Reconciliation and Alimony at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments."
Article (II)
A new clause (No. 6) shall be added to the first paragraph of Article (II) of Edict (35) of 2023, and the rest of the clauses shall be rearranged accordingly. A third paragraph shall be added to the same article, which reads as follows:
Article (II), first paragraph, clause no. 6:
"6- Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."
Article (II), third paragraph:
"The committee shall choose a vice chairman from its members and entrust them with the duties of the chairman in the event of his absence."
