Bahrain Mirror: Political prisoner Ali Mohammad Al-Salman confirmed that the "Jaw" Central Prison administration contract with private universities of high registration costs that exceed the financial capabilities of prisoners, and the exclusion of the official "University of Bahrain" from registration, "discourages prisoners from pursuing their studies."
Al-Salman explained, in an audio recording, that "the cost of registering for one semester in private universities is about 13,000 Bahraini dinars," noting that "the prison administration turned a blind eye to many Bahraini universities with much lower costs, especially the University of Bahrain."
