Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini House of Representatives said on Thursday that the Israeli ambassador in Manama left and claimed that it has recalled the Bahraini ambassador from Tel Aviv.
This comes about 10 days after the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation announced on (October 20, 2023), on its website, that Israel had evacuated many of its embassies in the Middle East, including the one in Manama, Bahrain.
The Bahraini House of Representatives said in a statement that "Manama suspended economic relations with Tel Aviv," justifying this by "the firm historical Bahraini stance in support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people."
The House of Representatives considered that "the continuation of war and military operations, and the continuing Israeli escalation in light of the lack of respect for international humanitarian law, prompts the House to demand more decisions and measures that preserve the lives of innocent people and civilians in Gaza and all Palestinian areas."
It is worth noting that the government has not issued an official announcement regarding the departure of the Israeli ambassador, and the House of Representatives does not issue a statement in this form on behalf of the government without an official guidance. Besides, the official news agency Bahrain News Agency did not publish the news either.
