Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq leader Sayed Taher Al-Mousawi has voiced concerns over the deteriorating state of key institutions within the country, emphasizing their continuous descent into corruption and failure. Al-Mousawi pointed out that government officials appear to remain firmly in their positions, undeterred by failure, financial loss, or corruption.
Taking to the "X" platform, Al-Mousawi highlighted recent financial losses incurred by crucial institutions: "the Social Insurance Organization lost 91 million dinars, Gulf Air reported a loss of 77 million dinars, and an Italian oil company failed to extract oil despite millions in funds." These setbacks raise questions about the effectiveness of the government in managing state affairs.
He questioned whether the government was acting as a responsible state or merely functioning as an entity without accountability. Al-Mousawi stressed that these financial losses would not be as concerning if the government allocated just 10% of them toward improving the livelihoods of its citizens, such as increasing salaries and retirement benefits.
Al-Mousawi lamented the apparent inactivity of the authorities, saying: "the government, parliament, and judiciary are asleep, only springing into action on specific occasions and under specific circumstances."
