Bahrain Mirror: Minor political detainees in Dry Dock prison began a hunger strike on Sunday, September 17, 2023, for at least the third time after the prison administration broke promises to resolve their case.
Al-Wefaq pointed out in a post on the "X" platform that "prisoners are demanding a retrial in line with international conventions on the rights of the child and improving prison conditions."
The minor detainees who are serving sentences ranging between 7 and 10 years are: Mohammad Ali Adel, Hussein Saeed Abdulkarim, Sayed Ahmed Majid, Firas Hussein, Fadel Mohammad Amin and Ali Mahmoud Mohammad.
These sentences were handed down by Bahraini courts when they were under the age of 18 without acknowledging their childhood, according to Ibtisam Al-Saegh, head of the monitoring department at Salam for Democracy and Human Rights.
