Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini authorities prevented Maryam Al-Khawaja, daughter of detainee Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja, from boarding a plane to return to her country.
The government also refused to allow the delegation accompanying Al-Khawaja from traveling from London's Heathrow Airport, where they were due to travel with her to Manama on British Airways.
Maryam Al-Khawaja was planning to return to Bahrain this week to draw attention to her father's situation, although she is risking her own freedom by heading to Bahrain herself, where she faces arrest, especially since the authorities arrested her on her last visit in 2014 and then released her after a month due to international pressure.
Al-Khawaja was arrested in 2011 after taking part in peaceful protests demanding reform of the system of government and democracy. He is subjected to violations of his rights in Jaw Prison and systematic denial of medical treatment.
