Bahrain Mirror: Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim stressed that "the people cannot abandon the cause of prisoners because it is their cause, and because their religion, humanity and ardor necessitate them to oppose injustice, support the oppressed, and relieve the distressed."
Ayatollah Qassim stressed in a statement on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, that "the people's silence on the many grievances that their sons are subjected to in prisons, including them being held in these prisons even for one moment is an acknowledgment of the legitimacy of these injustices and permission to extend them to all free people. This is sinful aid of injustice and participation in the sin of the oppressor."
"The cries of the living conscience of the free activists of the world must continue to resound, even if their views and affiliations differ with regard to the plights of prisoners, condemning the torments of free prisoners tortured by the torture army with all its specialists, executors, commanders and commissioners, condemning their unjustified stay in prisons even for less than a day, as well as promoting serious popular advocacy for them."
"The cries of the global living conscience and the expansion of its circle support each other in order to make these honorable prisoners get rid of their catastrophe, and the state of constant threat of death, infirmities and serious disabilities at every moment for no fault except for defending what's right, which means abandoning all guilt," he added.
He explained that "according to the language of the righteous, the requirement of honesty, and the responsibility of working towards taking care of the interest of the people and warding off trouble they may encounter, are the first to be demanded of those who are responsible for the affairs of the government." He warned that "the biggest disaster to take place in this area is a government treating its people based on the view that they are its sworn enemy, including the position of the government in Bahrain towards the free people who are captured and who are behind bars."
Ayatollah Qassim underlined that "the people of Bahrain, who set an example for their peaceful movement and adhere to peace, are truly supportive of the whole world, except for those who do not love justice or righteousness on earth and are satisfied with nothing but corruption."
