Bahrain Mirror: Bahrainis residing in A'ali denounced the statements of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdulnabi Salman, who commended the human rights situation in Bahrain, and praised the role of human rights agencies affiliated with the authorities.
In a statement on Thursday, August 24, 2023, the people of A'ali confirmed that "Salman's statements indicate a denial of the shameful events taking place on the ground, especially against the people of the village who are languishing in the prisons of the oppressors under harsh sentences over charges linked to their expression of opinion, in particular, the event that has gained international attention, in which more than 700 prisoners of conscience are involved, since August 7, 2023 to the present day."
They addressed Salman by saying: "Your duty was to take the initiative to visit "Jaw" (Central) prison to inspect the atmosphere and meet with the strikers to find out what their demands are, but your statement was far from what is required by the national spirit and duty."
The people of A'ali stressed that "Salman's statements only represent him personally," stressing that his statements are "a false testimony against the homeland and the people of Bahrain."
"We renew our stand with our sons in their battle of the empty stomachs, and we praise their honorable actions," they announced.
