Political Prisoners in Building 6 in Jaw Prison Start Hunger Strike in Solidarity with Hunger-Striker Detainees

Bahrain Mirror: 24 political prisoners in Building No. 6 Ward No. 2 in Jaw Central Prison announced their hunger strike, and 60 other prisoners announced that they would refrain from contacting their families and relatives, in solidarity with the prisoners on hunger strike, and to achieve their demands to stop ill-treatment, arbitrary isolation and provide health care in prison.
The prisoners said in a statement that their goal is to stand in solidarity with the prisoners in buildings 7, 8, 9 and 10 in Jaw Prison, demanding the abolition of the isolation penalty permanently, the release of all those in isolation, the improvement of health services in the infirmary and the release of inmates who are unable to withstand prison conditions.
They demanded the removal of glass barriers during family visits and the increase of their time, the opening of the cells doors in the morning until the evening, as well as facilities, mosques, the library, etc., the modification of the sunbathing program and the increase of its time, and the facilitation of the entry of books, medical secretariats, clothes and others.
The prisoners also demanded increasing the numbers they are allowed to call and their duration as well, reducing their cost as it is very high, adding types to the food found in the prison restaurant and stopping discrimination between buildings in terms of sold items, They called for opening the mosque at all times of daily prayer and facilitating university study and education procedures in general.
