Bahrain Mirror: Political prisoner in "Jaw" Central Prison, Mahdi Al-Ghawas, sent a message to the Bahrainis, in which he stressed that "those who say that we have nothing to lose are delusional, as we are exposed to retaliatory measures more than anyone outside the prison."
Al-Ghawas said in an audio recording "After we became convinced that there was no hope in negotiating with the prison administration, we resorted to the strike to demand our rights, and the administration told us that our strike was illegal."
"I boycotted the visit to the prison infirmary about a year ago despite my health problems, and we've learned from Ahlul Al-Bayt (peace be upon him) that death in dignity is better than life in humiliation," he said.
He continued: "We are ready to sacrifice our lives in order to preserve our pride and dignity as well as our freedom, and We have also learned that whoever hears a Muslim's cry for help and yet doesn't answer is not deemed a Muslim. Prisoners are calling out for the help of Muslims while they are on the verge of martyrdom. We shall not abandon any Muslim crying out even if we are shackled in chains."
