Bahrain Mirror: The National Institute for Human Rights (NIHR) said on Monday, August 14, 2023, that "nurses have been provided around the clock in anticipation of any emergency" that may happen as a result of the hunger strike of political detainees in Jaw Central Prison.
NIHR said in a statement that it will work to "find solutions to the demands of the inmates (detainees) in a balanced and fair manner, including increasing the time spent outside prison cells, removing the glass barrier during visits and increasing their times, going out to participate in the funeral ceremony in the event of the death of one of the relatives of the inmates (detainees), reducing the cost of calls and holding congregational prayers."
