Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq Deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, stressed that "the demands of political detainees are a necessity."
Sheikh Al-Daihi explained in a tweet that "rights are not discussed, but achieved," noting that "the hunger strike of political detainees in Jaw (Central) Prison reflects their insistence on basic rights and dignity and shows their desperation in the struggle for freedom and dignity, and is a reminder that rights cannot be neglected or ignored."
Meanwhile, he stressed that "repression and injustice will not break the will of political detainees," and confirmed that they "take on the challenge of hunger strike to obtain their rights, and this is the sacrifice they make today," calling on "the people of Bahrain to support them with all available possibilities."
"The hunger strike of political detainees shows the extent of their determination in demanding their human rights," he said, calling on the regime to "listen to their cries and achieve their demands." He held the regime responsible for any harm that happens to the prisoners.
"We stand by the political detainees and affirm that their rights are inalienable and cannot be waived, and we call for meeting their demands and releasing them immediately," he added.
