Bahrain Mirror: Detainee Habib Al-Fardan spoke in an audio message from Jaw Central Prison words as if he is mourning himself, in light of his deteriorating health condition and the prison administration's refusal of his demand for release to receive treatment.
Al-Fardan, 37, said on Saturday, August 5, 2023: "Today, the severe pain returned and I even couldn't sleep. I suffer from severe fatigue and pain in my eyes. I also suffer forgetfulness and distraction. The recent MRI showed that the tumor returned in a remarkable size."
He continued: "I live in anxiety and my family tried to reach several parties and present the recent medical reports in the face of slowdown, neglect and my case that is getting worse day by day."
"If these were my last hours, I wish to spend them with my mother, wife and only daughter, who lost me when she was only 3 years old," Al-Fardan said.
Al-Fardan was diagnosed with brain tumor and traveled to Germany for treatment. About three months after his return to Bahrain, the authorities arrested him on May 12, 2015 and sentenced him to prison terms reaching 75 years in various cases.
Recently, his brain tumor returned because the prison administration prevented him from completing his treatment and denied him medical care.
Al-Fardan's family had sought to allow him to be temporarily released to complete his treatment or to push the prison administration to treat him, however, the prison administration and government organizations did not do anything and stopped updating his family on his serious health condition.
