Bahrain Mirror: The Deputy Secretary-General of the "Al-Wefaq" Society, Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, stressed that "burning the Holy Quran in Sweden or anywhere else is a full-fledged crime that has nothing to do with freedom," and called on the Islamic states and Western parties to "expel the ambassadors of Sweden in protest against this attack on the sanctities of Muslims."
Sheikh Al-Daihi said via his Twitter account that "this is not just a violation of the Muslims' feelings, but it reflects fanaticism and ignorance that cannot be justified in any way," noting that "even freedom in the earthly sense means not to infringe on the freedoms of others or else it will be chaos."
He stated that "the Holy Quran is not just a book, but a message from the almighty God to all humanity, and the sanctity of this book is priceless, and it is our duty to preserve it with all appreciation, sanctity and respect."
Meanwhile, Sheikh Al-Daihi called for "taking action and condemning such cowardly and shameful acts," and urged "the authorities in Sweden and everywhere to take firm measures to prevent and punish the perpetrators of these crimes." He added "We cannot accept that a sacred religious value gets burnt under the false pretext of freedom of expression, as freedom of expression is based on respect for others and not offending them."
Sheikh Al-Daihi praised the diplomatic step taken by Iraq towards Sweden by expelling its ambassador from the country because of the crime of insulting the Holy Quran, describing the step as "courageous and important". At the same time, he called on "various Western and Islamic countries, forces and parties to expel the ambassadors of Sweden in protest against this attack on the sanctities of Muslims."
