Bahrain Mirror: Detainee Mohammad Hasan Al-Raml suffered a serious health setback on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, after he lost consciousness twice yesterday, Monday, inside "Jaw" Central Prison.
Al-Raml family confirmed that their son suffered from bleeding in the digestive tract that resulted in blood coming out with stool. The family held the prison administration fully responsible for the well-being of the detainee.
Jaafar Yahya, spokesman for the Bahrain Prisoners' Affairs Authority, warned that "Al-Raml's condition is worsening," describing his health condition as "serious," calling for his release and providing him with the necessary medical care and medicines.
The 63-year-old detainee began his hunger strike on June 17, 2023, to protest the prison administration's failure to provide him with his necessary medications, especially analgesic and anti-stomach ulcers.
The authorities arrested Al-Raml on November 3, 2015, and a court sentenced him to life in prison.
