Bahrain Mirror: Mrs. Alyaa Radhi "Um Naba'a", wife of the Secretary-General of the Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society who is sentenced to life imprisonment, Sheikh Ali Salman, spoke of the high spirituality and great sincerity of martyr Ahmad Jamil Al-Asfour.
She said via her personal Twitter account: "Since the arrest of Sheikh Ali Salman, martyr Ahmad and Sheikh Ali's companions, have constantly visited us and checked if we needed anything. However, we missed his presence after the Diraz siege."
One day, one of the youths was supposed to come and take us to visit Sheikh Ali in Jaw Prison. We faced many obstacles, perhaps this was a blessing from God so that martyr Ahmad would come instead and accompany us to Jaw Prison, so I have the honor to talk to him."
She went on to say: "When I got into the car with the children, I greeted him and he rerurned the greeting. He directly apologized for not passing by our home to check on us."
She stressed that, "This talk was full of love and sacrifice". He told me "Um Naba'a, you know how much we love Sheikh Ali and how much we want to check on you and ask about your needs, but I do not leave Sheikh Isa's side day and night. I am afraid to leave even for a short time and his house would get attacked while I am not around him to defend him. I rarely even go home out of fear for him, and I feel that my heart is breaking and I want to return quickly."
He then said: "The Sheikh sometimes goes out after the dawn prayer to check on us and ask about us as he is afraid for us, and prays for us."
"I knew then that this faithful man will never leave Sheikh Isa even at the most difficult moments," Um Naba'a said.
"Sincerely, I was not surprised by his martyrdom, he used to speak with love, enthusiasm and sincerity. Sacrifice was clear in his eyes. He was ready to sacrifice himself, and for martyrdom as if he was awaiting it, and such a faithful and sincere man has a special place in paradise."
"Thank God, I am happy that God gave me the opportunity to have this conversation and these precious moments to listen to him and enjoy his companionship in our journey to Jaw prison with the children."
"He had told me before I entered to send his warm greetings to Sheikh Ali, and to ask for his forgiveness, as if he was mourning himself," she added.
She concludes by saying: "I understood that later when he was martyred; it was a farewell letter to the Sheikh. I thank God that he gave me these blessed moments with him."
It is worth mentioning that Ahmed Jamil Al-Asfour is married and is a father to two children. He was martyred on May 23, 2017, at the age of 34, after being shot directly by the Interior Ministry forces, which attacked the protesters assembled in front of the house of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim in Diraz. This resulted in him sustaining deep injuries and then ultimately his death. On May 26, 2017, the authorities forcibly buried him without the presence of any of his relatives and against their wishes at the Al-Mahouz cemetery amid a siege and tight security measures.
