Finance Minister Says Budget Deficit Decreased during First Half of 2019

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Minister of Finance Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said that the actual deficit recorded during the first half of this year amounted to BD 404 million, BD 245.9 million lower than the BD 650 million half-year deficit recorded during 2018.
He explained in a statement that the actual revenues rose by 18.8 % and that the total actual expenditure decreased by 2.5%.
The minister indicated that the total actual revenue for the period ending 30 June 2019 rose by 18.8% to BD 1,274.4 million, an increase of BD 202.1 million from BD 1,072.3 million the year before.
He pointed out that the total actual expenditure for the period was BD 1,678.4 million compared with BD 1,722.4 million the year before, a reduction of BD 43.9 million or 2.5%.
