Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society called on observers inside and outside Bahrain to consider seriously and responsibly the information and testimonies mentioned in "What is Hidden is Worse" program, broadcast by Al-Jazeera Channel, which represent a betrayal of the country and show coordination and arrangements with very dangerous terrorist forces.

This came in a statement published by Al-Wefaq on what was mentioned in Al-Jazeera Channel program "What is Worse is Hidden" under the title of "Players with Fire", shown on Sunday, July 14, 2019. The film was about the regime's behavior towards the opposition.

According to the statement, the film revealed very dangerous information and arrangements related to terrorism and the destruction of civil peace. This information was provided by a very prominent Bahraini military official, and by Al-Qaeda leaders. Everything that was stated was documented in audio, video, dates and known events.

Al-Wefaq said that the information related to terrorism and sabotage of civil peace, the false information that was fabricated to bring troops from abroad and to crack down on the peaceful assembly at the Pearl [Lualua] Roundabout as well as the information about coordination with international terrorist forces has become the responsibility of local and international competent institutions.

The society called on observers inside and outside Bahrain to consider seriously and responsibly the mentioned information and testimonies that represent a betrayal of the country and show coordination and arrangements with very dangerous terrorist forces.

It confirmed that the solution is to fortify the troubled inside and build a harmonious social contract, after the collapse of the social contract and the absence of an inclusive state, stressing the need for building a state that embraces everyone and for stopping all crazy sectarian and security projects and move towards real political partnership.

Al-Wefaq further stressed the need for serious, fair and independent investigation into the stated information and testimonies, which represent a betrayal of the country and show coordination and arrangements with very dangerous terrorist forces.

"These arrangements have been clear in the apparent behavior over the past years, but things have become publicly evident and this cannot pass by without accountability in order to maintain local, regional and international peace and security," it stressed. The society added that all of what happened and is happening to the opposition on the ground is in line with this.

Al-Wefaq noted that the regime has so far failed to deny and refute what is mentioned in the said program, which calls for a lot of seriousness in dealing with these dangerous and sensitive testimonies.

It pointed out that the testimonies opened many files, most notably sectarianism, social contract, civil peace, security principles and the rule of law, which are all stressful files for the country and the citizen, and they need urgent solutions before it is too late.

Al-Wefaq stressed the purity and patriotism of the popular movement in Bahrain pointing out that all the attempts to demonize it, by linking it with violence or sectarianism or associating it with abroad, were false and fabricated. The society asserted that these charges are void, adding that apparatuses, institutions and individuals are paid to cause this distortion. Some mercenaries have not stopped working at home and abroad to distort the image of the movement in exchange for material interests, which is an ongoing reality.

Al-Wefaq confirmed that it distanced itself from the conflicts between the Gulf brothers, but "what was shown revealed information, plans, cells and terrorism targeting the country and its security, safety and the coexistence of its people, by targeting the opposition's figures, institutions, activities and peaceful national actions that are keen on the safety and security of the country and its people."
