Bahrain Mirror: Secretary of the Higher Education Council Abdulghani Al-Shuwaikh said that the equivalence of academic qualifications issued by foreign universities is not a condition of employment in private higher education institutions, according to the provisions of the regulations issued by the Higher Education Council.
Commenting on the observations mentioned in the National Audit Office report on the scientific qualifications of foreign faculty members in private higher education institutions, Al-Shuwaikh stated that these qualifications are required to be equivalent and recognized by the country from which they are issued and certified.
The General Secretariat also examines validity of attached scientific qualifications in the applications of higher education institutions related to employment, as well as the requirement of actual academic experience in recognized higher education institutions.
