Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini security authorities released on Thursday (June 28, 2018) Dr. Saeed Al-Samahiji after serving his one-month jail term.
Activist Ibtisam Al-Saegh reported him as saying that he spent 17 days of his prison term in the solitary confinement and he was about to die.
She added that Al-Samahiji left the prison exhausted and sick due to medical negligence. He told her that he was fighting death since the moment of verdict execution until his release. His fight started when he received the old prison suit and the worn out mattress and was transferred to solitary confinement for 17 days, in a dirty place unsuitable for humans.
"Even the prison's clinic was unequipped. Nurses were merciless, expect for one of them. There was also lack of medications, which negatively affected his health," Al-Saegh quoted Dr. Saeed.
Al-Samahiji apologized for not receiving congratulators due to his bad health condition, according to Al-Saegh
