Two Bahrainis Sentenced to 3 Years in Prison, 2 Others to 1 Month for “Beating and Insulting 2 Policemen at Dry Dock Prison”

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's First High Criminal Court convicted four detainees aged between 19 and 21 of beating and insulting a policeman and a lieutenant at dry dock prison. Two of the defendants were sentenced to three years' imprisonment and two others to one month.
The Public Prosecution referred the four detainees to trial after they were charged on 25/4/2016 with the following:
First: The first and second defendants assaulted on the bodily integrity of the victims (policeman and lieutenant). The assault did not lead to their illness or inability to perform their personal duties for more than 20 days. They were targeted during and because they were performing their jobs.
Second: The third and fourth defendants insulted the honor and person of the victim (the policeman) in a public manner, without referring a specific incident [as proof], during and because of his performance of his job.
