Bahrain Mirror: The Fifth Bahraini Criminal Supreme Court of Appeals upheld a ruling, sentencing three defendants to three years in prison for hurling a petrol pail at a police patrol vehicle from the rooftop of a building and setting it on fire with Molotov cocktails, under the direction of the third defendant, who it claimed was receiving instructions from the Al-Wafaa Movement group via the Telegram app. The court also ordered they pay 1,190 dinars in compensation of the damage caused to the vehicle.

The Court stated in its merits that the first and second defendants were under 18 years of age at the time of the incident, thus calling for mitigating circumstances.

The Prosecution accused the three detainees, along with unknown individuals, of pouring petrol from the roof of a building on a police patrol car near the Darwish mosque area in Bani Jamra, and then setting fire to it by throwing two flammable bottles, causing parts to burn.

The Prosecution claimed that the first defendant confessed to committing the crime, and that he guided the security forces to an abandoned house in the area of ​​Bani Jamra containing tools used in the riots and vandalism, where flammable bottles, a fire extinguisher and dyes were confiscated, according to its statement.
