Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Bahraini security authorities continued to impose a siege on the predominantly Shiite towns of Ma'ameer and Al-Ekr.
The authorities continued to place concrete barriers and checkpoints at the entrances, searching people entering and exiting the two Shiite towns.
Photos posted by activists on Friday (April 13, 2018) showed that a permanent checkpoint was set up at the entrance to Nuwaidrat, just three kilometers away from Ma'ameer and Al-Ekr.
Diraz, a Shiite village with some 30,000 residents, has already been under siege. The siege in Diraz is still ongoing since June 2016.
Interior Ministry forces target towns and villages populated by the country's Shiite majority by imposing checkpoints and raiding the homes of their residents.
