Central Bank of Bahrain Obligates Banks to Set Ceiling on Service Charges

Bahrain Mirror: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has issued a circular for banks to set a ceiling on bank charges that can not be crossed, said the Executive Director of Banking Supervision at the Central Bank of Bahrain, Khaled Hamad.
Hamad added in a press statement that this circular came after long consultations with both regular and Islamic banks held by the Bahrain Banks Society, which included hearing the Society's views in this regard, in addition to conducting studies and evaluating the cost of provided services.
He further pointed out that the said banking services comprise a long list, including opening a bank account, obtaining a bank account record, issuance of credit cards, etc.
