3 Citizens Arrested for 7 Days Pending Investigation for Publishing “Insults” on Twitter, YouTube and Facebook

Bahrain Mirror: The Public Prosecution has remanded three people in custody for seven days pending investigation for misusing social media websites.
Advocate Fahd Al-Buainain said that the Department of Anti-crime at the General Directorate of Anti-crime, Economic and Electronic Security had received several complaints about social media abuses to the Public Prosecution. The trio were arrested, following a thorough inquiry, and referred to the Public Prosecution which faced them with evidence.
The first accused, who was questioned, confessed to using his cellphone to post indecent video recordings on WhatsApp.
The second accused appeared before the Public Prosecution and admitted that he had supplied a malicious twitter account with information about the private life of a number of individuals.
In the third case, an accused confessed to uploading offensive video recordings on YouTube, causing prejudice to others.
The Public Prosecution ordered to remand the 3 in custody for seven days pending further investigations in preparation for their referral to the specialized court.
