Bahrain Mirror: The Ambassador of Bahrain to the United States Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa said on Thursday (March 22, 2018) that the Kingdom of Bahrain is anticipating the Department of Commerce's announcement regarding tariff exemption procedures, so that Bahrain can apply for an exemption.
US President Donald Trump announced that the United States would impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. Bahrain's exports of these materials is about 60% of its exports to the US.
"Nonetheless, as a close US military ally and impartial free trade partner, the Kingdom of Bahrain is confident in meeting the requirements of the country exemption principles," the ambassador expressed.
