Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court adjourned the case of 3 defendants accused of attempting to blast Buri oil pipeline last February to April 10 for pleading.

The authorities claim that they reached the defendants (one of them in Iran) through investigations.

The public prosecution accused the first and second suspects of joining, in 2016 and 2017, along with other unknowns, terrorist group through agreeing to engage in its activities and plans, causing an explosion by putting a blast on one of the oil pipelines in Buri, for a terrorist aim. It also accused them of acquiring and manufacturing, along with other unknowns, explosives without a license, aiming at using them in activities that would disrupt public peace as well as deliberately using explosives that would put people's lives and money to danger.

The prosecution accused the first suspect of training on the use of arms and explosives in Iran, aiming at committing terrorist crimes, and acquiring arms and ammunitions without a license from the interior ministry to use them in an activity that disrupts public peace and for a terrorist aim.

However, it accused the third suspect of leading a group that aims at disabling constitution provisions, laws and preventing the state institutions and authorities from practicing their work. Terrorism was used to achieve these goals. He was also accused of agreeing through inciting and helping the first suspect to commit the crime, through inciting him to receive that trainings. The third suspect also facilitated the first suspect's travel to Iran to receive military training in camps affiliated to the Iranian revolution guard forces.

Human rights organizations challenge the charges raised against political detainees, since they doubt the independence of the judiciary, whose members are assigned by royal decrees, and since it issues sentences based on confessions extracted under duress and evidence presented by secret investigations and anonymous witnesses.
