Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's fifth High Court of Appeals upheld a ruling sentencing a defendant to one year in prison for attempting to escape from Al-Hidd police station.
The plaintiff, a policeman, reported that while he was performing his duty at the gate of Al-Hidd police station, he was caught off guard when the defendant, who was detained at the police station, shoved him from the back, attempting to escape. This caused him to fall on one of the vehicles and hurt his back and left hand, resulting in the injuries listed in the medical reports. The victim said that he and another policeman managed to catch up with the accused outside the police station walls and arrest him.
The Public Prosecutor's Office accused the defendant of assaulting on 8/4/2014 a member of the General Security Forces and the injured policeman, by pushing from the back, noting that this assault took place because and during the plaintiff was on duty.
