Capital Secretariat Issued 2,568 Construction Permits in 2017

Bahrain Mirror: Director of Technical Services Shawkiya Ibrahim Humaidan said that the number of construction permits issued by the Secretariat of the Capital in 2017 amounted to "2,568", including buildings, residential and investment projects, services and public facilities, industrial projects, housing projects, and various other projects and services. The total area of these buildings amounted to 2.25 million square meters, the majority of which were residential investment buildings, which accounted for 46%, followed by special projects that reached 26%, and private housing amounting to 18%.
She further explained in a press statement that the monthly rate of issuance of construction permits in the capital city is 214 permits, equivalent to the issuance of approximately 10 permits per day, noting that 1,004 permits were issued for construction in residential areas, 1,113 for building public service facilities, 300 for residential and investment compounds, 47 for minor industrial projects, 27 for housing projects, 54 for construction in areas of a special nature and 20 for construction in commercial areas.
