Bahrain Mirror: The first high criminal court in Bahrain sentenced a detainee at Dry Dock Prison to six months detention for slapping a policeman in the face during prison riots.

The authorities claimed that the accused assaulted a policeman who was standing near one of the cells, adding that he heard one of the detainees shout at his fellow detainees, saying that the policeman beat him, and ask them to get out of the cell to protest, so the detainees responded and left the cell block, and the defendant pushed the policeman and slapped him on the face.

The Public Prosecutor's Office accused the defendant of physically assaulting on March 17, 2017, at Muharraq Governorate police directorate, a policeman, who is a member of the General Security Forces of the Ministry of the Interior, during and because he was performing his job, by slapping him on the face. The court sentenced him to six months in jail over the charges raised against him.
