Bahrain Mirror: A candidate in the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) elections, Mahmud Al-Namleti, called for an investigation into the Whatsapp voice recording, in which a female Asian national speaks in English asking a company owner to vote for a specific electoral block in exchange for financial facilitations and support from Tamkeen and the Labor Market Authority.
"This serious recording should not go unnoticed, especially since the names of government bodies such as the Tamkeen Labor Fund and the Labor Market Authority were mentioned in it," said Al-Namleti, warning that "neglecting these serious violations would push the commercial scene and honest candidates to lose confidence in the electoral process as a whole."
"Once this recording became public, it became a material for discrediting the electoral process, and contributed in igniting a crisis between those who accuse specific candidates of being behind this recording as a result of their buying of votes, and those who deny this, claiming that the recording is fabricated and intended to insult and defame," he added.
"The concerned bodies, such as the Election Commission or cybercrime directorate, should analyze this recording and reveal the truth," he further stated.
