Bahrain Mirror: Jassim Al-Asfour, father of martyr Yassine Al-Asfour (15 years), one of the Bahraini uprising victims who died after inhaling large amount of tear gas on January 20, 2012, said that the sixth anniversary of his son's martyrdom represents "a lot of pain and shows the childhood suffering in this country".

In a footage circulated on the social media outlets, the father spoke about the death circumstance of his son, "security forces heavily fired tear gas canisters at my house and a canister fell inside it," adding that "my son Yassine opened that door without knowing that the canister had just opened."

He went on to say "my son suffered from cystic fibrosis in the lung and he inhaled all the gas released from this canister."

Al-Asfour continued "I have a report from doctors about this (...) Yassine's health situation was good due to his family attention." He added "however, if he inhales toxic gases, this leads to decrease of oxygen and death".

He further stated "Yassine's health deteriorated due to inhaling toxic gases and as a result was admitted to the hospital, ICU section."

"This was the first time he enters the ICU, where he died," he said, indicating that "inhaling this gas totally damaged the lung."

Al-Asfour said "a year before his death, my son appealed the leadership in this country to provide people conditions for comfortable living in the village where we reside, Ma'amir, and urged the king to take rapid action and change our house due to the toxic gases emitted from nearby companies"
