Bahrain Mirror: The Directorate General of Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) said that the issuance of entry visas for Qatari national and foreign nationals residing in Qatar would see some delay, noting that this would "affect the movement of families between Bahrain and Qatar."
In a press release, the Assistant Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs said that these measures "come within the framework of maintaining national security requirements and taking all necessary measures to counter any threat to the security and stability of the Kingdom".
He further pointed out that this comes after "stronger cooperation and coordination between Qatar and Iran a relationship which is been given the priority at the expense of Qatar's defence and security commitment with GCC states. Moreover, Qatar has nationalized a number of Bahrainis, including military personnel, which has had negative repercussions, particularly on the social relations between Bahraini and Qatari families," adding that "Qatar has also facilitated the entry of foreigners of different nationalities, exempting them from visas through ports of countries that pose a threat to the national security of Bahrain."
