Bahrain Mirror: The head of the Professional Fishermen's Society, Wahid Al-Dosari, said the implementation of the decision to ban fishing of Spanish Mackerel will start on Tuesday and continue until mid-October.
Al-Dosari further stated that the ban does not include the fishing of Mackerel by means of fishing poles, but rather restricts catching the fish through nets.
The head of the society also noted that a number of fishermen are still violating the ban on shrimp fishing through motor boats, as shrimp fishing is restricted to small sail boats, thus leading to the deterioration of the marine environment, since most owners of motor boats use illegal fishing methods.
