Summary: Dozens of people took to the streets in different countries across Bahrain on Sunday (July 16, 2017) expressing their refusal to the issuance of family law without the consent of Shiite clerics.

Protestors expressed their condemnation to the government's proceeding in issuing this law without achieving the guarantees demanded by senior Shiite clerics.

A statement issued by Bahraini clerics considered that jurisprudence (Islamic Shaira) has covered all provisions related to family, however, the problem lies in the judiciary appointed by the King.
