Thales, SITA to Enhance Security at Bahrain Airport

Bahrain Mirror: Tech. website Biometric Update, said that Bahrain's Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has selected Thales and SITA to provide the security and operations management system - which will include biometrics and other technologies - for Bahrain International Airport.
The ministry launched the Airport Modernization Program in 2015 with an end goal to significantly improve Bahrain International Airport's infrastructure and services.
This ongoing program includes the development of a new passenger terminal and the expansion and renovation of the existing terminal.
With 14 million passengers a year expected by 2020, airport authorities at Bahrain International Airport are tasked with improving the security and safety of all the passengers, airlines and staff, as well as making the airport operations more manageable and efficient.
