Appeal Upholds Up to Life Sentences against 11 Defendants Accused of Karana Blast

Bahrain Mirror: The Sixth Supreme Criminal Court of Appeal upheld verdicts against 11 appellants.
The Fourth High Criminal Court had sentenced 4 defendants to life imprisonment, and 8 defendants to 3 years in prison, in a case linked to detonating a bomb in Karana, and attempting to kill police officers.
On its part, Public Prosecution referred the 12 defendants to court claiming that on July 17, 2015, they attempted, along with other unknown individuals, to kill police officers. They were also accused of planting a bomb underground in a sand ground, before leading police officers into the Karana area through throwing Molotov cocktails.
