Bahrain Mirror: The Supreme Court of Appeals presided over by judge Mohammad bin Ali Al Khalifa and Naji Abdullah as a secretariat rejected the objection of a convict, upheld 5-year jail verdict against another defendant and commuted a 5-year jail term verdict issued against 6 others to 3 years over putting hoax bomb in Salmabad.
The High Criminal Court had sentenced 8 suspects to 5 years in prison over putting hoax bomb on the public street in Salmabad and setting fire to tires after placing the hoax bomb in the middle and ordered the confiscation of seized items.
The court accused the suspects of putting, along with other unknowns, on November 23, 2015, hoax bomb on the public street for a terrorist aim, deliberately setting fire, along with other unknowns, to movables, noting that the fire would endanger people's lives and money and taking part in an assembly while using violence to achieve the aim they gathered for.
