Medical Errors Claimed Lives of 63 People Last Year in Bahrain

Bahrain Mirror: Member of the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee of Medical Services, Fatima Al-Asfour, said that the number of victims who died of medical errors in Bahrain reached 63 cases in 2016, after they were 37 cases in 2016. This registered a 59% increase of deceased cases in 1 year only.
Al-Asfour also said that the committee addressed the Ministry of Health officials with inquiries about the 37 death cases in 2015, among them 14 cases in the Salmaniya Medical Complex, and about their increase to 63 cases in 2016.
They also inquired about the solutions set by the Ministry regarding the incidents that occur while switching shifts between medical and technical staff. Moreover, they were asked about the recommendations provided for the inner and clinical schemes, and whether the recommendations are implemented.
