Bahrain Mirror: The Sixth High Court of Appeals presided over by judge Ibrahim Al-Zayed and membership of judges Dia'a Huraidi and Salah Rizk and Yousif Bu Hardan as secretariat ordered the prosecution to investigate the reasons behind not bringing 5 appellants in a case overturned by the cassation court, noting that one of the appellants is sentenced to death and the other 4 are sentenced to life term over killing policeman Mahmoud Farid Bir in Al-Ekr.
The court set June 4, 2017 as a date to bring the appellants from the prison.
The Supreme Court of Appeals had unanimously upheld a verdict issued by the first-instance court that sentences the first suspect to death, 7 others to life imprisonment and 4 others to 10 years in prison over killing policeman Mahmoud Farid Bir in Al-Ekr . Meanwhile, the court revoked the citizenships of all the suspects and ordered the confiscation of seized items.
