Trade Unions Deplore Commerce Chamber Decision to Dismiss Worker Seeking Trade Union Formation

Bahrain Mirror: 35 Bahraini trade unions condemned what is called an "unfair attack" launched by some business owners against trade unions and union activists without any right.
In a statement, these trade unions said that 2017 witnessed a series of dismissal and harassment cases, most recent was the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry's decision to dismiss workers after seeking the establishment of their trade union by law.
This therefore, according to the 35 trade unions, contradicts with the trade union law, labor law, constitution, and all international conventions and principles that guarantee the workers' rights.
Moreover, the trade unions expressed their surprise at the fact that these breaches come from a member of the International Labor Organization (ILO), which should require he becomes more committed to international labor standards. They further demanded that the workers and their unions should be fairly treated, stressing that all unions intact and unified under the leadership of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions.
