Bahrain Mirror: The Fourth High Criminal Court presided over by judge Ali Al-Dhahrani and membership of judges Ousama Al-Shathili and Wael Ibrahim and Ahmad Al-Suleiman as a secretariat sentenced 5 defendants to 5 years in prison and ordered the confiscation of seized item over a case linked to planting hoax bomb in A'ali.
The court convicted the suspects because on December 5, 2015, the first and second suspects put, along with other unknowns, hoax bomb in a public place, for a terrorist aim.
Meanwhile, the court convicted the third, fourth and fifth suspects because they took part in the incident through agreeing with the first and second suspects as well as the other unknowns and helped them commit the crime.
Human rights organizations challenge the charges raised against political detainees, since they doubt the independence of the judiciary, whose members are assigned by royal decrees, and since it issues sentences based on confessions extracted under duress and evidence presented by secret investigations and anonymous witnesses.
