Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini human rights activist Nabeel Rajab's family said that Rajab was rushed to the hospital yesterday in an ambulance just minutes after they paid him a visit at the prison where he is being held.
The security authorities had returned the rights defender to solitary confinement only two days after he underwent a surgical operation.
The family of Rajab, who was elected once again as president of the International Federation for Human Rights, expressed their concern over his health. The Bahrain Center for Human Rights' pages on social media also reported that Rajab's family said he was not provided with basic hygiene products. His family stated as well that "he has a deep incision that requires adequate medical care."
Regional and international human rights organizations have previously urged the Bahraini authorities to immediately release Nabeel Rajab, who has been held in solitary confinement for the past nine months, thus causing his medical condition to worsen.
