Bahrain Mirror: The defense panel of Sheikh Hassan Isa and Hassan Ali Hassan, who are sentenced to 10 years in prison, Mohammad Ahmad Ali Fakhrawi and Hussein Abul Qassem Kashtkar, who are sentenced to two years, filed an appeal challenging the verdict convicting Sheikh Hassan Isa and others of funding a terrorist group while convicting the others of the murder of two policemen and attempted murder of 6 others.
The appeals court, according to the defense panel, scheduled the first appeal hearing on April 10, 2017.
The Fourth High Criminal Court had issued a unanimous verdict sentencing defendants Mohammad Ibrahim Al Tawq and Mohammad Radhi Abdullah Hassan to death, in the case of the bombing that targeted a bus killing two policemen in Sitra. The court handed down in the same case sentences ranging between 6-month terms and life imprisonment, also stripping 8 defendants of their nationalities.
