Appeals Court Upholds 3-Year Jail Term against Suspects over Acquiring Molotov and Explosives in Sitra

Bahrain Mirror: The High Appeals Court presided over by judge Mohammad bin Ali Al Khalifa and Naji Abdullah as secretariat upheld 3-year jail term against appellants over acquiring Molotov and explosives.
The high criminal court had sentenced 14 suspects over the charge of acquiring explosives, weapons and ammunition without a license from the competent party, for a terrorist aim, setting fire for a terrorist aim, assembling and acquiring Molotov.
The court had sentenced the first and second suspects to 15 years in prison and the suspects from the third till the seventh to 3 years. Meanwhile, it handed down 7-year jail term to the suspects from the eighth till the fourteenth and ordered the confiscation of seized items.
The authorities claim that a group of people attacked Sitra police station and the members found near it through Molotov, which led to burning some of the movables. Thus, the criminal investigation department carried out its investigations and reached the suspects.
The public prosecution said that it relied on hearsay evidence, the attesting witnesses, technical reports as well as testimonies of the suspects.
