Bahrain Mirror: Ministry of Health increased the health services fees on the expatriates. The general medical consultation fees reached 7 BD as well as that of the dental consultation.

The increase in fees came through a decision issued by the Health Minister Faeka Al-Saleh that stipulated that "the medical examination of residents who are not affiliated to the government sector in Bahrain and their families who are not registered in the health care system shall be 7 BD for the medical consultations and 7 BD for the dental consultation. This includes the morning and evening consultations."

The decision was issued in the official gazette on Thursday and will come into effect starting January 20.

Article 2 of the decision stipulated "not to dispense the medications prescribed by the doctors to the aforementioned patients (foreigners) in the first article from the ministry of health's centers and medical facilities. The patients are to buy their medications from the private pharmacies."

Article 3 of decision 2/2017 regarding the health services fees for non-Bahrainis stipulated to specify the fees of other medical services and article 4 ordered the repealing of any provision that contradicts with this decision.
