Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmad Al Khalifa said that the Kingdom of Bahrain "won't waste its time on the Human Rights Council," in response to the UN High Commissioner Zeid bin Ra'ad Al-Hussein's statements in which he criticized human rights violations in Bahrain.
The FM told the Saudi "Al-Hadath" TV channel in an interview that Bahrain is one of the most cooperating countries in the world with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and even the HRC, adding that Bahrain is also "the first country in the world to conduct a Universal Periodic Reviews of human rights and made great progress in applying mechanisms that would prevent any violation against human rights."
He further noted that his country expects from the OHCHR more favorable reactions to the major work it is accomplishing in this regard, stressing that Bahrain won't waste its time when the Human Rights Council takes no heed.
