Bahrain Mirror: Former MP to the Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, Ali Alaswad, said that the decision adopted by the Administrative Court to dissolve Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society shall not abolish the opposition's rights at home and abroad.

The London-based former MP dubbed the rule [in Bahrain] a political rule that goes against the law.

Alaswad posted his comments on his Twitter account after the verdict was issued, stating "The regime in Bahrain cannot find anything in Al-Wefaq's values that would condemn it or even allow its persecution. The decision to dissolve it goes against the law and is strictly political".

He further added that "Dissolving Al-Wefaq does not eliminate the opposition's right of Bahrainis, whether at home or abroad, to work according to the drawn and approved principles the so that the demands of the people are achieved".

Alaswad also noted that "the authorities in Bahrain issued a decision to dissolve the Al-Wefaq Society and to confiscate its funds, after the ruling family was fed up with the existence of political action and a serious and effective opposition".
