Bahrain Mirror: The President of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR), Nabeel Rajab, said during his court hearing on Tuesday (July 12, 2016) that a number of Interior Ministry officials confirmed that the charges raised against him were dropped by a royal pardon issued about a year ago.

Rajab told the judge that since his release last year by a special royal pardon he remained in contact with state officials and had more than 10 meetings with the General Director of Anti-corruption and Security and Electronic Security Bassam Al-Me'raj, who confirmed the case has been dropped.

Rajab is being tried over tweets he posted in March 2015 criticizing Manama's involvement in the deadly Saudi aggression against Yemen and torture at Bahrain's notorious Jaw Prison.
